A magnetic bar can be used for a wide range of purposes: magnetic knife holder, tool holder, filtering, cleaning metal parts or fixing a tarpaulin...
Here you'll find various models of magnetic bar, with continuous or discontinuous magnetisation.
We assemble our magnetic bars in our workshop in the rench alps, using very powerful neodymium magnets that we insert into aluminium profiles, or into wooden bars worked by a cabinetmaker.
Contact us if you need something made to measure: we can adjust the length and magnetic power of the magnetic bars.
Magnetization power of a magnetic bar
Unlike many ferrite magnetic bars you will find in the trade, we use neodymium magnets that are extremely powerful. These magnets are placed continuously or discontinuously according to the magnetic bar model.
Neodymium magnets are made of a neodymium (rare earth) alloy, boron and iron, which give them very strong magnetic properties in relation to their size. You will have no problem to magnetize heavy tools on your magnetic bar.
Note that the magnetization power will be greater on a surface parallel to the floor (table or ceiling), because the magnetization will not be subjected to sliding forces.
WARNING
We strongly recommend wearing safety gloves when handling a magnetic bar. This is especially true when you handle a continuous magnetization bar. Extremely powerful, it is attracted by ferrous objects at a distance of about 20 cm.
Characteristic and composition of magnetic bar patterns
We offer different models of magnetic bar:
• Wooden knife bars. The bars of the magnetic knives are shaped by a cabinetmaker who uses local essences of Ash or Walnut. Neodymium magnets are glued to the wooden bar continuously. The wall mounting is done with magnets that screw into the wall.
• Tool bars, as well as bars with continuous or discontinuous magnetization are cut from aluminium hollow profile bars, in which neodymium magnets of 2.3kg power up to 24kg per magnet are inserted, depending on the magnetic bar model.
Contact us if you need a custom-made magnetic bar, with a customized length or a special fastening system.
• The flexible magnetic bars are made of polyurethane foam with on each side a high-quality magnetic rubber composed of neodymium particles. This flexible magnetic bar can be used in contact with curved surfaces, with a large radius of curvature.
The magnetization power of neodymium rubber remains very strong, especially on vertical surfaces (wall for example) because magnetic rubber is rough and less subject to sliding forces.
What is the difference between the discontinuous neodymium bar and the continuous magnetic bar?
Both magnetic bars are made with the same magnets and aluminum profiles.
The continuous magnetic bar has neodymium magnets along its entire length, unlike the discontinuous bar in which the magnets are spaced. It is thus much more powerful.
How to attach your magnetic bar
There are 3 types of magnetic bar mounting:
- By magnetism for double-sided bars.
- By adhesive for light bars
- With pre-drilling hole for wall mounting
